Handmade hand art.
I love the complexity and dynamism of hands. There’s so much that can be explored with them. They can be graceful, delicate, wild, or anything else you can imagine. I reflect a variety of emotions in my work through the use of negative space with simple additions to make them pop.
Hello! I’m Sam Riesmeyer. I’m a Chicago based artist trying to make fine art out of embroidery. After starting in 2018 it has slowly enveloped my entire life and become a part of my identity. I’m a hopeless romantic, punk ass lesbian whose main inspiration is heartbreak and the transition of a person to a memory. A lot of this will include nature imagery and the red thread of fate from Chinese folklore.
